It started Thursday afternoon, 20 October 2011, when Annie’s OB called to say that he thought Annie’s amniotic fluid was low and that it was time to induce labor.
By 6 p.m., Paul and Sue had joined Annie and Sean at the hospital. Some 42 hours later, after mild-inducement medication, hard-core inducement medication, an epidural and five shifts of nurses, the third on-call OB physician called it: it was time for a c-section. Annie was brave and heroic; Sean was loving and heroic. They made their way through contractions with musical vocalizations.
